Massage des Tissus ProfondsMassage des Tissus Profonds

Deep Tissue Massage

The gestures of deep tissue massage are performed with great slowness and depth to release chronic tensions, unravel stiff and painful muscle tissues and undo adhesions between the muscle layers. They are mostly concentrated on the muscles and fascias of the contracted areas that cause pain and mobility restrictions. The force of the maneuvers is gradual in order to warm the muscles and to avoid the spasms. Elongations, compressions and neuromuscular technique (trigger points) are the typical massage maneuvers that are performed using various joints and contact surfaces such as fists, forearms, elbows and knuckles. Friction can also be used. It is a continuous pressure that is applied along a muscle to release the adhesion and thus realign the fibers of the tissues. This type of massage is recommended to treat chronic muscular pain, localized muscular tension, decreased muscle mobility, repetitive strain injuries, posture problems, fibromyalgia, arthritic pain, etc. A slight degree of discomfort during the massage as well as aches from 24 to 48 hours after the massage can occur.
